About Graymont - Overview

Incorporated in 1948, Graymont is a family owned and controlled Canadian private corporation headquartered in Richmond, British Columbia (a Vancouver suburb), with regional offices  in Boucherville, QC, Calgary, AB, Bellefonte, PA, West Bend, WI, and Salt Lake City, UT. 

Graymont is the second largest producer of lime in North America, with close to 20 locations serving key market regions across Canada and the United States. Several of the sites include rail-to-truck trans-load terminals that extend the plants’ respective geographic market areas. Graymont also has a significant investment in Grupo Calidra, the largest lime producer in Mexico.

Graymont’s Lime operations are focused on the production of high calcium and dolomitic lime, pulverized limestone, value-added lime based products such as hydrated lime and precipitated calcium carbonate, and construction stone.

The Company also operates a construction materials business, Graymont Materials, which provides construction stone, sand and gravel, asphalt products and ready-mix concrete for infrastructure and general construction needs from four locations in upstate New York and southern Québec. The Materials operations are headquartered in Plattsburgh, NY.

Graymont’s Ecowaste Industries Ltd. unit operates a landfill for yard waste, construction, demolition, and excavation materials in Richmond, BC.

Graymont employs some 1,400 people and produces approximately 4 million metric tonnes of lime products, 1.3 million tonnes of limestone products, 5 million tonnes of construction stone, 500,000 tonnes of asphalt and 100,000 cubic metres of concrete ready mix annually. Industrial landfill intake for the latest year was approximately 500,000 tonnes.
