Graymont is committed to protection of the environment on two fronts -- through the use of its lime products for environmental remediation and by limiting the impact of its own operations on the environment.
Our lime products are a big part of the solution in terms of addressing a myriad of environmental impacts and issues -- both naturally occurring and man-made -- ranging from water and sewage treatment to acid rain reduction, environmental remediation, wind farm construction, agriculture and power generation.
At the same time, Graymont recognizes the impact on the environment resulting from its quarrying and plant-site activities, and is dedicated to further improving its environmental performance to achieve world-class standards.
Over the past several years, Graymont has successfully implemented environmental management systems (EMS) at all of its Lime and Materials plants, focused primarily on air emissions, energy efficiency and waste reduction.
Our aim now is to further enhance performance by putting in place a comprehensive one-Graymont EMS system, which will continue to drive improvement across the organization by ensuring compliance with a set of uniform, non-negotiable standards that go beyond regulatory obligations.
